After all, this is a fight we’re in, (1Timothy 1:18 msg).

 

A few years back I was battling some serious physical and emotional issues. I remember waking one morning and feeling the attacks from the enemy beginning early that day. I said to the Lord,  “I don’t feel like fighting today.” His response surprised me! “Tough,” He replied. “Bebe, this is a war and you’re in a battle. But I’ve provided everything you need for the battle.”

He has given us a helmet of salvation to protect our mind, a shield of faith to guard our heart, a breastplate of righteousness to ensure our position in Christ Jesus; we are girded with the belt of truth, and our feet are prepared with the gospel of peace. We wield the sword of the Spirit by declaring the Word of God. We persevere in prayer and supplication in the Spirit, (Ephesians 6:11-18).

So, we are battle ready as we stand in the armor He has provided, clothed in Christ, Himself. We use our offensive weapons of prayer and scripture to come against the enemy in authority and power through the blood of Jesus, and the Name that is above every other name. Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might, (Ephesians 6:10 nkjv). Our chief weapon is the Word of God, just like Jesus used the Word when He was in the wilderness, tempted by Satan, (Mark 1:13).

So, gear up! The battle is now! But I’ll let you in on a secret, Jesus already won!
