In my flesh and my own striving I can never measure up. It’s not about a lack of confidence or self-esteem. And it sure isn’t about my works, though we were prepared in Christ for good works. I can’t speak for you, but no matter how hard I try, in myself, I mess up. Trying to measure up by our own efforts is completely exhausting and futile, but He never asked us to do that. He knew we couldn’t. Jesus paid the price in full.
He leads us in paths of righteousness and we are to walk rightly, but it is His “rightness” that is our support. His Spirit leads us and gives us the will and the ability to do His will. For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.
God the Father, in His great love and mercy, made a way for me to be complete, set apart, the righteousness of God through Christ Jesus. He sees me as perfect, perfected in Christ. He sees me as clean because the blood of Jesus has washed me. He sees me as whole because He has put together the pieces of my life, and I am complete in Him.
He loves me as much as He loves His Son, Jesus! The Word says so, but I read it again and again and still have trouble taking it in. He treasures me, so even if others treat me as junk – their treatment doesn’t make me junk. He has the first and last word and what He says, stands – for eternity. I am treasured by the Creator of the Universe.
Yes, I measure up – in Christ Jesus, my Redeemer, my Shepherd, my Brother and Friend. As I dwell on His provision of right-standing through His death and resurrection, my heart feels immeasurable gratitude. Thank You, Jesus, for Your sacrifice and obedience. Thank You, Father, for Your provision and grace. What love!
In His care, Bebe
